Confidentiality

I aim to keep the work confidential. This means, that I will not discuss a child or young person's counselling sessions in detail with parents or schools.

However, I will provide parents with broad themes, which may assist in some understanding and promote communication with the young person or child.

There are however some exceptions to this- mainly if I am are concerned about the safety of the child or young person, or someone they may know and I think is at risk of harm. Child protection and the protection of vulnerable adults is a vital part of my work. Where possible and if safe, I would try to discuss this with the young person and their carers first.
